I came across this list of 135 Best Things You Can Do For Your Child on a website of one of my favorite psychiatrists. Dr. Daniel Amen.

I don’t usually “promote” people, and I’m doing this on my own, but I really like what this guy preaches and found it really helpful.

Last year I saw a PBS Special on Dr. Daniel Amen and his theories and methods really hit home for me. I’ve had my struggles like everyone else, but after reading a few books by Dr. Amen, I learned why I had the emotional struggles I did and how to help heal them. I just wish I would have read them years ago and hadn’t had to figure it out the hard way through trial and error.

Anyway, browsing his website today I came across this list he posted. Wow, it’s exactly what I needed to hear. He has a great way of seeing and explaining what really works. After reading the list I feel like slapping my forehead and saying “duh, why haven’t I been doing that all along”.

If we all just do one thing on this list, the children of the future will be one step closer to becoming the wonderful adults we know they can be.

135 Best Things You Can Do For Your Child by Dr. Daniel Amen

If you only do 1 thing today, listen to this recording of a 1 hour tele-class he did on Love and Your Brain. The replay is only up for 1 more day. So listen to it today. You won’t regret it and your partner will be sooo grateful!! It’s really good. I had signed up for the free tele-class. Hopefully it’s okay that I posted the link

Happy Holidays!!

This may be more than you ever wanted to know about me….but I wrote an article for Todaysmama.com about my life’s struggle with depression, grief and overcoming the obstacles by thinking positively.

I’m a true supporter of Cognitive Therapy.

There are many reasons why I started Cheeky & Swank……this article helps explains why.

I admit it was hard to tell my story. But if it can give hope to one person, to help someone hold on or get the help they need, than it was worth it.
